Step Up, Speak Out & Lead From Wherever You Are
A practical communication and leadership workshop for members of the Midwives Association of Manitoba
The Midwives Association of Manitoba has partnered with The Confident Midwife to offer this interactive virtual workshop exclusively to MAM midwives.
Midwifery asks a lot of us—not only clinically, but in how we communicate, navigate challenging dynamics, speak up, influence decisions and work with one another.
In this four-hour workshop, we'll explore practical tools to help you approach those moments with greater clarity, curiosity and courage.
Together we'll look at:
Why some conversations feel harder than others—and what happens in our brains when they do
How assumptions and misunderstandings take hold
Power, status and the dynamics that shape communication in midwifery
Practical ways to approach difficult conversations
Listening, curiosity and asking better questions
Speaking up with greater clarity and confidence
How to lead and influence—whether or not you hold a formal leadership role
This is not simply a lecture. Expect reflection, conversation, real midwifery examples and practical tools you can take back into your work.

Co-founders, The Confident Midwife
We're midwives, coaches, educators and leaders who have spent decades working within midwifery and the healthcare systems around it. We created The Confident Midwife because we believe midwives deserve access to the communication, leadership and influence skills that make the work behind the clinical work easier—and help midwives shape what comes next.
We look forward to working with you.
